Thoughts and inspiration...

So it's the end of our holidays now and it's quite clearly the end of summer.
I do actually really like the weather we're having at the minute.
It's 'cosy' weather.
hot chocolate. duvet. fire and cuddles :)

I went to Loughborough market on Saturday, there is a stall where a man sells old cameras, lenses and accessories. I'd been to see him previously and I really wanted to buy a Pentax K1000 from him, he was selling it for £45. I didn't have the money on me then as I was only enquiring about prices. So I went along on Saturday and studied his stall. I looked on in disappointment as I realised it wasn't there. I asked and he'd sold it the previous week.

So I had a look at the other cameras he had and asked him to recommend one to me. He chose a Mamimya MSX 500. It was really dusty meaning I had to clean it up. I asked him for his price, he said £30. As I hadn't researched the camera I didn't fancy paying that much. He said his best price was £25. I thought it were reasonable and accepted. I had to buy a new battery which I got from the £1 shop. The only problem i'm having is with the exposure/metering needle. It goes crazy, I'm going to see if Kye or someone at college can help me out with it. If not i'm gonna have to purchase/borrow a light meter or something similar to help me.
I can't wait to try it out. I want to start a film camera collection.

Here's a picture of my new baby :)

I'm a bit behind in sketchbook research. But not 'brain' research. By this I mean I've not physically written everything in my sketchbook, however I've looked at plenty of photographers work. Here's a favourite image from each Artist i've been looking at recently. (please respect all copy right which belongs to the artists)
Click on their names to be taken to their websites :)

These are just a few of the artists i've looked at. They are all unique and inspire my workings. I've a few future projects in mind and hope to be able to run them along with my uni work.

I'm quite looking forward to getting back to uni. See the LC guys tomorrow :)
